Scientific Interests:

• Electrostatic and electromagnetic effects on an electron beam, in particular in gyrotron system configurations, including: electrostatic effects in a gyrotron beam tunnel, stability of e sheet electron beam, harmonic coaxial gyrotron interactions, gyrotron interaction with propagating electron beam, Hamiltonian map description and highly efficient numerical integration of electron dunamics in gyrotrons.
• Analytical and numerical investigations on the excitation and evolution of linear and non-linear drift-type plasma instabilities and associated phenomena such as drift turbulence, properties of large scale flows in tokamaks, coherent structures and plasma transport.
• Non-resonant suppression of MHD modes (such as the sawtooth instability and the neoclassical tearing modes) by superthermal particles (i.e. ions and electrons) during r.f. heating.
